St. Patrick’s Day Candle Ideas

February 24, 2011 by SandraW

green beer candle for St. Patrick's DayMarch (spring?) is almost here and it can’t come soon enough as far as I’m concerned.  If you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, it’s a fun excuse to decorate creatively with candles.

I’m not a big fan of green beer, but it seems to go over well on St. Patrick’s Day. Here’s a green beer candle from Shindigz.

If you want to make your own, just add a wick, melt some gel and dye it green! shamrock candleTo whip the wax, melt some paraffin and wait for it to set a little before whipping it with a whisk until frothy.

This floating shamrock candle from Crafted Candles is covered in gold glitter and would make a festive addition to any St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

I also found this adorable Leprechaun candle holder at Terry’s Village.

Other St. Patrick’s Day Candle Décor Ideas:

Find some shiny shamrock stickpins in a craft store and decorate pillar candles with them.

Place green candles on mirrors or decorative plates and sprinkle St. Patrick’s Day themed confetti around the candles.

Crochet a shamrock or cut one out of felt and glue it near the bottom of a taper candle. Finish the look off by placing the candle into a green candle holder. Find an easy four leaf clover pattern at Crochet Spot. If you’re so inclined, try your hand at the Leprechaun hat!
