A coffee cup, you can eat

February 28, 2015 by Vikram Goyal

kfc-coffee

KFC Britain, in what could be a brilliant marketing strategy, has come up with a coffee cup that you don’t need to throw into a rubbish bin once you have finished the coffee.

Instead, you can eat the cup.

To me, it sounds very much like a cone of icecream.

It is called the “Scoff-ee Cup”, and it is actually made from a thin lattice of wafer, coated in sugar paper and lined with a slow-melting white chocolate. The chocolate gradually infuses the coffee with a creamy sweetness.

You would think that the cup would become too soft with the hot beverage inside it, but apparently, KFC says that it doesn’t.

What do you think? A gimmick or very clever?

Sounds good to me. Provides an extra treat and keeps paper cups out of the landfills.

Sounds great but will need to be gluten-free or lots of us won’t be able to buy their hot beverages. Hope this isn’t the case or they at least provide the option of getting a paper cup.

Coffee and a snack in one. Great idea would try this.

Okey but I hope they are wearing gloves and have these where they are kept clean and not out to the elements to collect dirt on like some cup bottoms are. Bacteria can be passed to food very easy but usually when comes to filling coffee cups they don’t wear gloves so they would have to get use to that.
