Where the Wild Things Are by Marcus Sendak is one of my son’s favorite books. Last year we even dressed him up as Max for Halloween! The movie based on the picture book is coming out soon, so the internet has been brimming with lesson plans, craft ideas and costumes based on the classic book. This week, I’m going to be posting some of my favorite ideas from around the internet.
Deep Space Sparkle has a great idea for an art project for younger students. Read the picture book aloud to the class and have then draw (in black and white) their own version of a monster. Then let them practice their watercolor skills by adding color to their monster! These would look great hanging around the classroom!
