Flipping through The Flow I came across an article and interview with the glass worker, Wesley Fleming. He makes really incredible and insanely realistic insects. His work is so detailed and real you’d swear it was an actual insect. He works in soft glass and painstakingly researches his subjects extensively before setting out to recreate them. And as a glass worker he is a master of heat control. As the article states, practice, patience and heat control are what makes his work so incredible.
Wesley finds great inspiration from the Blaschka’s, the father and son team that created so many masterful specimen reproductions at the turn of the last century. Please check out Wesley’s web site so you can admire and enjoy such fantastic craftsmanship. So beautiful!
