Ink Blending on Colored Cardstock Technique for Die Cut Cards
Mirisha has a great tip with one of her favorite techniques, ink blending on colored cardstock. There’s nothing wrong with die cutting images from colored cardstock and just adding them to your card but you can easily take it to the next level by adding additional color with ink blending onto the colored cardstock, this adds so much more dimension and depth to your images. Mirisha (and I) prefer using Distress Oxide Ink pads from Tim Holtz for ink blending. These inks have a smooth, blendable texture when applied to the paper with a blending brush. Notice how adding the darker shades of ink toward the centers of her die cut flower layers and bottoms of the leaves gives a more dimensional and realistic look. It’s a such a simple way to add so much impact to your handmade cards!
