Urban Glass – Let’s go to Brooklyn Tonight

March 6, 2010 by Cathi Milligan

If you find yourself in Brooklyn you must wander over to Urban Glass, a fantastic glass facility. I’ve had the pleasure of hanging out there a couple of times and find the place just awesome. I did a glass bead show there ages ago and the last time I was in Manhattan I had to go over and just be there. When I did the bead show it was held right next to the hot shop so I was able to watch the creation of some pretty impressive lamp shades. Lamp shade is an understatement but that’s OK. I had my first opportunity to witness a roll up then and was intrigued by the technique ever since.

So check out their site, their classes and events…their publication, Glass Quarterly and when you find yourself in the Manhattan or Brooklyn area stop by and check out the facility.

How to Make a Taylor Swift Inspired Card

How to Make a Taylor Swift Inspired Card

If you’ve got a friend or a teen that’s obsessed with Taylor Swift then here’s the perfect card for you to make for them! Caitlin used the “Uptown Girl Loves to Sing” stamp from Stamping Bella and colored her to match a performance outfit from Taylor. Using Copic markers she colored the image in, also using them to create tiny dots for the look of shimmer and glitter and drew in fishnet details on the tights too. The background is silver glitter paper with a die cut pink fluffy cloud frame around it which she used the cut out section for the stage. And to take this cool idea really over the top it’s also a shaker card with large glittery sequins in the background too.
