13 Witchy Halloween Card Ideas using Stamps and Dies

Who says witches can’t be cute? This darling stamped mouse is dressed as a witch, flying on her broom across a beautiful ink blended sky. Audrey also added stamped and die cut elements to her sky like a moon, clouds, stars and bats. The large die cut letters are cut from black glitter cardstock and add a nice shimmer. Take a closer look at the Lawn Fawn blog.

As August comes to a close Autumn will be here before we know it and that means Halloween is just around the corner. Now’s a great time to start working on your handmade Halloween cards as you start to notice all of the paper crafting companies are now releasing new products for Fall and Halloween. All things Witchy are always on trend for this time of year so let’s jump on our brooms and take spin around and check out all the amazing new Witch inspired card ideas.

Beneath each photo you’ll find a link, click it for more details like tutorials, techniques and products used.

This wonderfully spooky card from Jeannie features lots of witchy elements inside of detailed frames. There’s die cut pointy shoes, a cat, fortune globe, skull, hat and more cut from deep, rich colors of cardstock that work nicely over the black base. The background is silver heat embossed words, with a white heat embossed sentiment in the center. Learn more at the Hero Arts blog.

This spooky girl doesn’t have a pointy black hat but she still oozes with witchy-ness (and she reminds me of Wednesday Addams!). Deb used a printed card front, adding a die cut black flames frame, die cut tombstones and sentiment for a quick and creepy card. I spotted this at the Whimsy Stamps Instagram page.

I love the teal and purple color combo on this witchy potions card from Arsenia! She stenciled her background, die cut the bottle to create an amazing shaker element, placed it over a vellum doily, added fun heat embossed sentiments and surrounded it with cute stamped spiders and pumpkins. Find all the details at the Pretty Pink Posh blog.

I always look forward to Tim Holtz’s Halloween releases and this year did not disappoint! Caly used some of his new cling stamps for this wonderful witchy card. The little stamped witch is standing with her big cauldron with a “Toil and Trouble” sentiment over a wonderful background of ink blending, white splatter and stamped graveyard. Find loads of other ideas at the Simon Says Stamp blog.

I can’t do a post about witches without including two of the most popular right now, Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked! Betty used stamps from Scrappy Boy, colored with Copic Marker and placed them over an ornate die cut golden frame. I love the pink and green swirly papers she placed behind each section! Take a closer look at the Silver Elephant Craftique blog.

Here’s another card inspired by movie witches, this time it’s the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus. Elaine used Copic markers to color them and the stamped house on the hill, notice how she filled the entire card with color for an amazing seamless scene. Watch her coloring video over at the Stampingbella blog.

And let’s make it a trio with another card inspired by one of my favorites, Harry Potter, with this mystical Professor Trelawney inspired card. Lauren stenciled the Deathly Hallows all over the background placing die cut arches on top. The main stamped scene has a table with tea cups, a chair with a cat, a stack of books and Trelawney holding a prophecy ball that actually lights up with the button is pressed! Watch her video tutorial at the Lauren Taylor Made blog.

These ghosts want to get in on the witchy action, all dressed up for trick or treat in cute witches hats, holding pumpkin buckets with banners and sweet sentiments. Melody used dies to design a card with matching tag for a candy treat bag. Haunt on over to the Taylored Expression blog for a closer peek.

Want to trade? This spook-tacular set of cards from Mimi are inspired by gaming and trading cards like Magic the Gathering or Pokémon with holographic frames, spells and powers and stamped witchy scenes on each one. She even made faux packs to put them, so clever! Find all the details at the Mama Elephant blog.

Even the animals want to go trick or treating like on this amazing card from Sam. She stamped a deer, squirrel, hedgehog and bats dressed in costumes over a background in dark pinks and purples created with die cut and ink blending. I came across her idea on her Sam Makes Cards Instagram page.

A witches familiar seems to have borrowed her hat on a darling Halloween card from Cheryl. This cute black cat, hat and sentiment have been die cut using dies from Spellbinders from colored cardstocks and placed over a dimensional dry embossed background of purple cardstock with black inking added. Watch her video tutorial at the Artsy Island Girl blog.

Let’s end on a traditional witch with her warty nose flying on her broom across the night sky. The fun part is she actually does move when the wheel is turned! J.L. also created an amazing sky with ink blending and masking to place all her die cut elements on. Learn more about this Boo-tiful card at the J.L. Webster Creations blog.

I hope you’ve been spellbound by these amazing Witchy cards!
