As a glass bead maker I love playing with different kinds of glass. We are spoiled with the range of colors available whether it be Bullseye glass or Moretti or the other types and brands. But some of my favorites to work with are the silver glasses. These are rods of glass that have silver infused in them, so when you play with them in the flame they do magical things. The best glass for this is Double Helix Glassworks in Washington State. Jed and Julie Hannay started their glass company in 2005 and have grown quite a bit since then.

If you make glass beads you’ve got to try out this glass. My favorite is Aurae…or is it Triton? Some days it’s Terranova or Kronos. Then there’s Ekho or Psyche…

I love the mix of stamping and die cutting on this darling card from Cynthia as well as the pink and red color combo! She used stamps for the girl and her puppy adding them to a die cut sled on a hill of die cut snow. She used dies for all the elements, adding color with markers and ink blending for her background. The final touch was lots of white paint splatter for the snow and a layered die cut sentiment. Santa delivering gifts on a Vespa scooter instead of a sleigh? Why not? This fun card from Maaike uses digital stamps, a die cut snowy hill with houses and wonderfuliinked Northern Lights background. I spotted this idea on the Whimsy Stamps Instagram page.

This clean and simple design would be easy to make multiples of in one sitting. Seeka created this serene scene of Santa’s village with simple black stamping and die cutting.
