Salt Dough Candle Holders

December 9, 2007 by SandraW

salt dough candle holderLeonie from Kids’ Jozi shares her durable recipe for salt dough and an example of a completed candle holder project for children. You could paint stripes on these, glue fake jewels onto them and more.

Leonie is also a wonderful photographer and you can see some of her photos here.

At Shirley’s Preschool Activities you can also find a variation of the same project. The recipe has less salt in it than Leonie’s but there are detailed instructions and it looks fun. See Shirley’s Salt Dough Candle Holders for more. There are many more Christmas craft ideas for kids there as well.

Looking for more salt dough projects? check these salt dough crafts out on our sister site Craftbits.com

If you are looking for an airdrying clay as an alternative I highly recommend Das Airdrying white clay  I have been using it for over 30 years and it never fails me.
