Active bloggers at some point must concern themselves with secure surfing. Once the ‘what came with my computer’ McAfee subscription ran out, I began using free PC security software. But, is it enough?
I searched the Web, naturally, for answers. Of the commercial variety, PC Magazine gave top honors to Norton Internet Security. A recent review from Consumer Reports, as reported by CIO online, looked at both commercial and free software. They awarded their Best Buy logo to FREE offerings – Avira’s AntiVir, Windows Defender, and Spamfighter. According to Gregg Keizer who penned the article at CIO, Consumer Reports said these three used together offer the best combination of performance and price.
