Get the Confetti
Confetti makes everything better, and if you’re planning a unicorn-themed birthday party for your girl, it can add that magical touch to decor that seems blah. Fill it up in balloons or just throw it around on the children that attend as they enter the venue- it’s an instant way to lift up the spirits!
Like it Sparkle
You can never go wrong with some sparkle! Be it the fillings in the balloons or part of games and activities that you may have planned, make sure you include some glitter as well. Consider using Edible glitter to add a sparkle to all your DIY party food.
Whip Up a Unicorn Hot Chocolate
You can easily have all the kids go crazy over the mugs of unicorn hot chocolate, and best of all, it is super easy to prepare! All you need is some white hot chocolate, a few drops of food coloring, loads of sprinkles and some whipped cream. We have loads more Unicorn party food ideas here on our Edible crafts blog. When you are thinking about Unicorn party food, think, pink gold and rainbows. We love these Rainbow sour straps for adding to cupcakes. They make decorating cupcakes so easy, you won’t need any fancy cake making skills for those.
Get Smart with the Toppers
Whether it is a batch of cupcakes or a big three tier cake, choose your toppers wisely, or if you can, make your own! You can roll up a piece of glittery card paper into a cone and place it on the cupcake or cake and then add some sprinkles on the top! We have some free Unicorn party printables for you here.
Experiment with the Decor
It is the little things that matter when it comes to the decor during a birthday party, and when you ’re planning a unicorn themed one, here’s some help. Decide on a color scheme (pastel pinks and blues work great along with some gold) and have the balloons, cake toppers, invitations, plates, paper napkins and everything else in the same color scheme. Lot’s of stores also sell Unicorn party supplies that are ready to go and will match your theme.
Make a Mask
You can also add a touch of craziness to the party by looking up some printable unicorn masks and printing them, and having the children that attend wear them. And why not take things up a notch by sprinkling some glitter on them to add that magical touch.
Get Out the Horns!
Whenever you think about unicorns, the single beautiful horn is often the first thing that comes to mind, and there’s nothing better than having a plate of ‘unicorn horns’ as treats for the kids?
All you need is some empty ice-cream cones, some melted cooking chocolate and tons of sprinkles. Simply dip the outer part of the ice-cream cone in the melted chocolate and then into a plate full of sprinkles and allow it to dry. Viola! You’ve got delicious unicorn horns ready to be munched on. Take things up a notch by adding a handful of mini marshmallows to the sprinkles
plate!
