As I read the tutorial by Cynthia Morgan, before writing this post I saw that this will be a multi-part project. In this post you’ll set up the clay and plant life for the pate de verre project. Do you know what pate de verre is? It’s a approach to casting that uses powders and frits in a more painterly fashion. Cynthia Morgan produces some of the nicest pate de verre out there. Check out some of her work.
This project looks like a good one for beginners. It’ll give you an idea of what’s involved in more complicated pate de verre projects. Check out the variety of plant life that she uses and start gathering your materials. As soon as Cynthia has posted the next part of this project I’ll post it here!
