Pate de Verre is a technique in glass where crushed and powdered glass is mixed into a paste and then applied to a form, then fused.
This fish is from the A Glass Fanatic blog who tells us that their process is to do it in multiple layers and stages. I bet there is a lot of depth that can be seen in this type of glass work.
