This DIY Super Hero party round-up is actually from my own son’s party. I created a theme around the backdrop wallpaper I picked up on sale for $14. It created an amazing cityscape that the kids loved having their photos being taken against it.
I purchased helium balloons from ebay for under $2 each and used them as a backdrop on the table. I also used this City scape Cone holder from Oriental trading which filled up a huge section of the table. I created cityscape glassware with black paper glued onto clear vases I already had. The plates and napkins were from Oriental Trading also.
I created a DIY Pinata using a simple round shape and writing the words BOMB onto it. This has to be one of the easiest pinatas I have ever made (no corners). I used pipe cleaners for the top and filled it with random leftover Halloween candy (my sons birthday is December). You can purchase superhero pinata here too.
I created a DIY party punch board for a lucky dip (prizes) by wrapping up plastic bowls with blue tissue paper. Each punch bowl contained a flying rubber super hero. The kids just punched the bowl to get their prize. Grandma made little black capes for all the water bottles which were super cool. The cake stand is an upturned $3 Ikea bowl and a glass plate. I lined the Ikea bowl with comics to add to the theme.
Cardboard boxes were used to create a cityscape for decoration and white sticker from an office supply store were used for the windows. We played game with streamers catching the parents and used silly string to capture Spiderman (brave father). We sent them home with a plastic batman cup some sweets and a superman color your own headband.
My son still has the party prop in his bedroom as decoration too and I pinned the cityscape wall paper into his room to carry on the superhero design.
