Party Ideas – Rainbow Robots

September 24, 2013 by Shellie Wilson

Rainbow-robots-party-ideas

I love this (feel like I am always saying that) Rainbow Robots party! I think it is a great way to have a Rainbow party for boys without it coming across as too girly. I don’t think Rainbow parties are ever going to disappear. Rainbow Robot Party Inspiration

Free Pattern – Colvin Socks

I recently finished making the Colvin Socks by The Velvet Acorn Designs, and I’m absolutely in love with how cozy and comfy they turned out! These socks are perfect for keeping your feet warm during chilly autumn and winter days. Whether you’re out for a hike or just relaxing on the couch, they’ll keep your toes toasty.

What I Love About the Pattern:

  • Super Comfortable: The socks are made with Wool of the Andes Tweed Worsted, which gives them that perfect blend of warmth and softness. No more cold feet on those chilly mornings!
  • Adjustable Fit: One thing I really appreciated was how customizable the fit is. You can easily adjust the size by changing the hook size, so you can make them as tight or as loose as you like. I made the small child size, and they fit perfectly for my little one, but I can see how easy it would be to tweak for other sizes.
  • Great for All Ages: The pattern includes sizes for both children and adults, so you can make matching socks for the whole family (how cute is that?).
  • Quick to Crochet: This is an easy pattern that works up pretty quickly, which makes it great for last-minute gifts or cozy projects to tackle on a cold weekend.

A Few Details:

  • Yarn: I used Wool of the Andes Tweed Worsted, which is a gorgeous yarn that’s 80% Peruvian Highland Wool and 20% Donegal Tweed. It gives the socks a rustic, cozy vibe that’s perfect for the season.
  • Hook Size: I used a 5mm hook, but you can easily adjust the size by going up or down a hook size to get the perfect fit.

All in all, the Colvin Socks are a fantastic crochet project for anyone looking to make warm, cozy socks for themselves or as a thoughtful gift for loved ones. The pattern is straightforward, and the finished result is so satisfying! I can’t wait to make more pairs in different sizes for my family.

If you’re looking for a simple yet stylish pattern, I definitely recommend giving these socks a try!
