In todays posting of The Glass Quarterly blog they talk about a guy in Herzalia, Israel that has a mosaic robot. Huh? Will it replace humans for creating mosaics? His company is Mosaic4u and his machine can lay out one square meter of tile from a computer file in 9 hours. Now if you’ve done mosaics before you know that’s pretty fast. And I’m sure it doesn’t get tired either. But Boaz Glass Mosaic4u’s owner doesn’t think it’ll replace humans. We sure hope not. You really need to read the article to get all that is involved in the process. And it’s best on larger scale projects. It could be pretty cool.
