Make a Marble Candle Holder

July 7, 2014 by Shellie Wilson

If you have kids, chances are you have a collection of marbles lying around the house. While marbles can be used for playing games or trading with friends, they can also be repurposed to create a beautiful and unique candle holder. This DIY project is not only fun and easy, but it’s also a great way to upcycle and repurpose materials that you already have on hand.

To create this candle holder, all you need are glass marbles, a glass jar or vase, and some hot glue. You can use a variety of marbles, including clear or colored glass marbles, to create different effects and styles. You can also explore different patterns and arrangements to create a personalized and decorative look that suits your taste and style.

Dollar stores are an excellent place to find affordable bags of marbles, while home decor stores may have more unique and specialized options. However, don’t be afraid to use marbles from your own collection, as they can add a sentimental and personalized touch to your candle holder.

Once you’ve gathered your materials, simply apply hot glue to each marble and attach them to the glass jar or vase, working your way around until the entire surface is covered. You can experiment with different shapes and sizes of glass jars or vases to create different effects and sizes of candle holders.

Etsy Spotlight – The Thomas Boys Shirt Sewing Pattern

This week in our Etsy Spotlight Series, we’re loving the timeless charm of the Thomas Shirt Sewing Pattern for boys. This versatile button-up pattern is perfect for every occasion—from backyard playdates to weddings and special celebrations.

We think this pattern really shines when paired with fun, bold prints—think quirky florals, vintage cars, tropical vibes, or even festive Christmas fabrics! It’s a fantastic way to let your fabric stash shine while creating something practical and adorable.

This pattern is a must-have for any sewing parent or grandparent. The design is polished enough for formal wear (wedding shirt, anyone?) but still comfy and easygoing for everyday use.

Tip: Try sewing it up in linen or lightweight cotton for summer, or use flannel for a cozy winter version.

Whether you’re sewing for your own kids or making gifts, the Thomas Shirt sewing pattern is a classic that’ll be on repeat.
