Make a Lovely Glass Flower – from Instructables

September 6, by Cathi Milligan.

FP2IMHJISCBHGZC.MEDIUMWhat a great post on how to make a glass flower via blowing glass. I’ve been doing quite a bit of glass blowing lately so when I saw this I had to share it with all of you. There are glass studios all around the country and you will need one to make this project…this is a great excuse to try glass blowing if you haven’t already. The tutorial is provided by Girlsinthehall over at the Instructables web site. Enjoy!

Gorgeous Needle Felted Butterflies from Sarafina Fiber Arts Tutorial

Needle Felted Butterflies - The Folk School Fairbanks

I’ve always been surprised by how many students will ask for tutorials to make butterflies and birds.  Perhaps it’s because they aren’t so easy to do!  Often we try these things and don’t enjoy the results so having a tutorial to work along with would be super helpful and cut out the trial and error process.  So today I have a video tutorial to share from Sarafina Fiber Art.  Here she teaches you in real time how to make a wired butterfly, which you could do in any colours you like, and really get some great, fine wired legs etc.  The legs often do make or break the effect of these things!

Sara is always fun to work along with and if you have been felting for a while I’m sure you have come across her work before!  I have a terrible feeling I’ve not shared her videos before though and plan to rectify that over the next few weeks!

I hope you will enjoy creating some sweet, delicate butterflies with this tutorial

Happy Felting
