What a fascinating fiber artist featured on Lion Brand Yarn Studio.  Joetta has created a stunning wall hanging for this occasion.  Her work will be shown from now until the end of October we are proud to display her wonderful work, comforts .  After recycled sweaters, felt, and freeform crochet, this is our first knitted piece. From the artist’s blog : comforts… I learned to knit in order to make this piece. And it was probably the piece that I was most happy with. I would not change a thing about it except keep making it…
It is about 8 ft long and 5 ft tall…so pretty big…All the text is meant to imply another body or being, as if the “scarf” can act as a substitute for “another”.
This definitely came out of… how much I missed the body of my husband, his physicality his warmth, his presence, me being away in Massachusetts and him in NYC. Come experience a little fiber comfort at the Lion Brand Yarn Studio.
