Kids Craft – Paint Pour Rainbow Rocks

August 11, 2019 by Shellie Wilson

I have been completely obsessed with paint pouring recently and wanted to try out some ROCKS! Crafting with kids is all about experimenting and embracing the creative process!

DecoArt Pouring Medium and Americana Acrylics make this a simple tutorial to be successful at, with just a few supplies. One rock for each color of the rainbow – ROY G. BIV – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

Use a bakers rack from the dollar store to lift up the rocks so the excess paint flows off. Once dry hand letter each rock with a permanent marker!

This project is great for any paint pouring adults too, use left over dribs and drabs of paint to create these paint pour stones for painted stone drops or for making little paperweights for gifts. They make great craft stall and craft booth sellers too.

See the full paint pour tutorial here.

If you’re a scrapbooker who also loves to garden then this project from Jen is right up your alley! Using the Berry Sweet collection of scrapbooking supplies from Doodlebug she created a fun folio style planner to keep track of her garden this Summer. She used chipboard covered in cardstock to create the base and used printed dies, words and pattern papers to decorate the darling cover.

Inside is a place for a notebook to keep notes on when and what you’ve planted and a space for a photo with pockets below.

And another section with fold out accordion pockets to tuck in things like seed packets or more photos to include as your garden grows.
