Judith Schaechter was the keynote speaker at last year’s BE Con event. She’s a fine artist that works in stained glass. Not your usual medium for an artist but that’s what she does and she gave the best lecture on the divide between art and craft. Glass artists deal with this quite a bit. Fortunately more fine art made of glass is being produced and there’s an understanding that there can be a big difference between fine and functional art. Judith has received much recognition as a fine artist, having received Pew and Guggenheim fellowships. This story is about her project for Eastern State Penitentiary’s stained glass windows. How to Make a Cozy Coffee Gift Card Holder
If you’re gift giving to a coffee lover give them a gift card to their favorite coffee shop in a handmade coffee themed gift card holder. Nicki created this delicious and cozy card with a rounded flap that has a die cut Cup of Joe and some tasty cookies. For the cookies she die cut and dry embossed them, adding some white pigment ink for color and texture and glitter for sugar. I love how the bold red mug pops on the blue card base!
Inside on the flap is a pocket for the gift card and a sweet stamped and die cut sentiment.
