Intro to Modern Crafts Course – Atlanta

This summer instructor Shannon Mulkey (creator of the Indie Craft Experience I told you about last month) brings Atlanta-ites an amazing community education course at SCAD: Introduction to Modern Crafts. Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) offers classes and degrees to prepare talented students for professional, creative careers.

With the focus changing from week to week, this mixed media course offers an inside look into the modern craft scene. You will develop skills to screen-print, embroider, sew, create soft-sculpture, alter books and more. This is the perfect course to explore the emerging world of modern crafting and inspire new ideas.

Instructor: Shannon Mulkey. Shannon is founder and co-organizer of the Indie Craft Experience, including the biannual I.C.E. design and craft event. Mulkey currently teaches at the secondary school level and at Atlanta’s High Museum of Art.
