How To Put a Photo On To A Candle

September 28, 2016 by Shellie Wilson

Adding photos to candles is a great way to create a personal and sentimental touch to your decor. Whether you’re creating a wedding candle, memorial candle, or just want to update a plain store-bought candle, this tutorial is perfect for you. With just a few materials and some basic crafting skills, you can transform any candle into a cherished keepsake.

One of the great things about this tutorial is that you don’t need any special papers or tools. All you need is a candle, a printed photo, some wax paper, and a heat gun or hairdryer. You can use any photo you like, whether it’s a picture of a loved one, a pet, a landscape, or a special moment in time.

The process itself is quite simple. First, you need to print your photo onto regular printer paper. Then, you place the photo face down onto a sheet of wax paper and apply heat with your heat gun or hairdryer. The heat from the tool will cause the wax in the candle to melt and the photo to adhere to the candle. Once the photo has been transferred, you can trim the edges with a sharp knife or scissors.

This tutorial is perfect for anyone who loves DIY projects or wants to create a unique and personal touch to their decor. With just a few simple steps, you can transform an ordinary candle into a cherished keepsake that will be treasured for years to come. So why not give it a try and see what creative candles you can come up with?

Here is my version of this DIY tutorial

As someone who loves to personalize things, adding a photo to a candle is a perfect way to create a unique and special gift or decor item.

The first step is to gather your supplies. You’ll need a candle, a printer, tissue paper, scissors, and some tape. Make sure the candle is a light color, like white or ivory, so that the photo stands out.

Next, find a photo that you want to use. It could be a favorite family photo, a picture of a beloved pet, or a special moment captured in time. Make sure the photo is the right size for your candle – you don’t want it to be too big or too small.

Now, print the photo onto the tissue paper. It’s important to use tissue paper because it is thin and translucent, which allows the photo to transfer onto the candle seamlessly. Make sure to print the photo onto the non-shiny side of the tissue paper.

Once your photo is printed, carefully cut it out with scissors. Take your time with this step to ensure that you have a neat and tidy edge.

Now, place the photo onto the candle in the desired location. Use a small piece of tape to secure it in place. You can use more tape if needed to make sure the photo stays in place.

Next, take a piece of wax paper and wrap it tightly around the candle, making sure to cover the entire photo. Use a hairdryer on the lowest setting to heat the wax paper. This will cause the wax on the candle to melt slightly, allowing the photo to adhere to the candle. Be careful not to overheat the candle or the tissue paper may melt or wrinkle.

After a few seconds, remove the wax paper and carefully peel it away from the candle. The photo should now be adhered to the candle!

Now, you can add any additional embellishments or decorations to the candle if you wish. And there you have it – a personalized and special candle that is sure to be cherished by the recipient.

Adding a photo to a candle is such a fun and easy way to make something truly unique. So go ahead and give it a try! I hope this tutorial helps you create some beautiful candles that you can treasure for years to come.
