How To Make A Giant Paper Flower + Free Template

March 15, 2019 by Shellie Wilson

I put this giant paper flower together as a money gift carrier for my friend Julia’s wedding. I thought I’d share this tutorial with you as it is so super versatile. You can use it for various decoration projects such as a wedding, a baby shower, mothers day, home decor in a she-shed or creative studio, a garden party or even for prom. They make for amazing photo backdrops and they work wonders as a single flower or in a cluster. Also, they are super easy to be made and with all that wonderful paper out there the options are limitless.

Lotus Flower Totem Fan Crochet Kit

If you’re looking for a project that feels as meditative as it is beautiful, the Lotus Flower Totem Fan Crochet Kit from HiCrochet is something truly special. With its delicate fan shape and blooming lotus motif, this piece brings calm, artistry, and intention to your crochet time. It’s the kind of make that goes beyond “just another pattern”—it’s decorative, symbolic, and surprisingly doable, even if you’re not a seasoned lace-crochet pro. Whether you’re channeling boho energy, spiritual symbolism, or just want a stunning handmade piece for your wall, this kit checks all the boxes.

What I love most about this kit is how it turns your time with yarn into something deeper—almost like a ritual. The flow of the stitches, the soft curves of the fan, and the blooming lotus all come together into a piece that’s just as meaningful as it is beautiful. Hang it in your creative space, gift it to someone who needs a little peace, or keep it by your meditation corner—it’s a project that leaves you with more than just pretty stitches. Let me know if you try it—I’d love to see your finished totem fan!
