Homune Table by Michael Young

September 21, 2012 by Cathi Milligan

I was introduced to a really cool design web site called contemporist.com and I have to say, I love what I see. First newsletter to me and I get this amazing table made by Michael Young, a British designer working with glass blowers from the Czech Republic. The base of this table is gorgeous! He’s had special molds made that the glass is blown into and then the pieces are assembled together. Fabulous! I’m looking forward to all of the interesting and cutting edge designs I’ll be shown through this web site…

How to Make a Banner Tea Card

How to Make a Banner Tea Card

This amazing card from Lynn is a tea-rrific way to use up pattern paper scraps. She used banner dies that might normally be hung in a row and designed her own starburst pattern with them. She used two different sizes of banner dies, each with faux stitching, and cut out different coordinating floral and polka dot papers, placing them in a circle on the background with the points facing out. In the center are two die cut circles and a stamped tea cup, plate and spoon. For these she used a fun paper piecing technique, stamping them on pattern paper and cutting them out along the stamped edges, piecing them back together. There’s also a puny stamped sentiment, some silver domed accents and a 3D flower. This card is sure to put a big smile on any tea lovers face!
