Glass Bead Tutorials…Make a Gold Foil Bead

August 12, 2009 by Cathi Milligan

Searching the internet for interesting things about making glass beads actually manages to reveal interesting things. Today’s installment is a web site with bunches of glass tutorials. It’s awesome. You have options of different things to learn to do. It’s wonderhowto.com and glass beads aren’t the only tutorials they have but for today that’s all we care about.

There are articles and videos. How cool is that? You can search through to see the newest or the top graded or most watched. There’s definitely something for everyone. Currently there are about 155 different tutorials available. I watched Make a Gold Foil Bead with Patricia Frantz. Check it out. Patricia and her husband Mike have the company Frantz Art Glass and have been supplying everyone with glass and tools forever! Well almost forever. At least as long as I’ve been doing this which is almost 16 years. Yikes! Check them out too.

Little Birds: 26 Handmade Projects to Sew, Stitch, Quilt and Love

Hey there, fellow crafters! If you’re anything like me, always on the lookout for charming projects to dive into, then “Little Birds: 26 Handmade Projects to Sew, Stitch, Quilt & Love” might just be your next obsession. This delightful collection brings together a flock of bird-themed crafts that are as fun to make as they are to display.?

From the moment I flipped through the pages, I was captivated by the variety of projects. Whether you’re into sewing, stitching, or quilting, there’s something here to tickle your fancy. The book features designs from talented artists around the globe, each bringing their unique flair to our feathered friends. Projects range from adorable soft sculptures to intricate quilts, ensuring that both beginners and seasoned crafters find something to love. ?

Now, let’s talk about the nitty-gritty. While the projects are undeniably charming, some crafters have noted that the instructions might not be detailed enough for absolute beginners. For instance, if you’re new to quilting, you might need to seek out additional resources to grasp the basics before tackling the quilt projects in this book. However, if you’re willing to put in a bit of extra effort or have some experience under your belt, you’ll find the projects both enjoyable and rewarding. ?

A heads-up for those ready to dive in: the patterns included need to be copied or enlarged before use. It’s a minor inconvenience but something to be aware of so you can gather all necessary materials beforehand. Once that’s sorted, you’ll be on your way to creating some truly delightful bird-themed crafts. ?

“Little Birds” is a charming addition to any crafter’s library. While it may present a slight challenge to novices, the end results are well worth the effort. The projects are not only fun to make but also make for heartfelt gifts and cozy home décor. So, gather your fabrics, threads, and a bit of patience, and let these little birds inspire your next crafting adventure
