Glass Bead Tutorials…Make a Gold Foil Bead

August 12, 2009 by Cathi Milligan

Searching the internet for interesting things about making glass beads actually manages to reveal interesting things. Today’s installment is a web site with bunches of glass tutorials. It’s awesome. You have options of different things to learn to do. It’s wonderhowto.com and glass beads aren’t the only tutorials they have but for today that’s all we care about.

There are articles and videos. How cool is that? You can search through to see the newest or the top graded or most watched. There’s definitely something for everyone. Currently there are about 155 different tutorials available. I watched Make a Gold Foil Bead with Patricia Frantz. Check it out. Patricia and her husband Mike have the company Frantz Art Glass and have been supplying everyone with glass and tools forever! Well almost forever. At least as long as I’ve been doing this which is almost 16 years. Yikes! Check them out too.

Etsy Spotlight: Goose Baby Lovey PDF Pattern

Okay, full confession—we don’t have any babies in our life right now, but that doesn’t stop me from swooning over sweet little sewing patterns like this adorable goose baby lovey! I mean, how could you resist that soft, cuddly face and those tiny wings? It’s giving timeless nursery charm with a modern handmade twist.

This pattern comes as a PDF with a helpful English video tutorial, so it’s perfect for confident beginners or anyone wanting to try their hand at sewing softies. It’s designed to be both a comfort toy and a keepsake—just the kind of thing little hands love to hold, and mamas love to treasure.

Maybe it’s time I start putting a few baby patterns away for the (not-too-distant?) future—grandchildren stash, anyone? Even if you’re not sewing for a little one right now, this pattern is a total heart-stealer and would make the most beautiful handmade baby shower gift.
