Dear CraftGossip readers,

Etsy says that it is a place to buy and sell all things handmade. We think that it is a place to buy all handmade dreams! Who among us hasn’t trawled the digital aisles of Etsy, looking for nothing in particular but ended up spotting the perfect bag for these troubled times or planned a party just so we could find a use for a kids party theme idea? Yes, it burns a hole in our pocket, but what is a DIY person like you to do and not support the biggest handmade revolution of the times? So you are in a bind… you see all the cool items that you would like to buy from Etsy, but you don’t want to do all the explaining to your other half, your accountant and the kids. Fear not, we are here to help.

We, at CraftGossip, would like to help you out in buying your dreams from Etsy and bringing them to your home. Sounds good?

We are giving out 3 Etsy shopping sprees (each to a maximum value of $100). We will also pay for shipping.

Here is how you can win:

1. You must write a blog post on your site where you must create a wish list of the items that you want to buy from Etsy and link to them (make sure that the total value is less than or equal to $100). Once you have made the list, you can’t change it. You must mention why you are creating this list. There must be a clear link back to this post and CraftGossip.com (show us some love). If you don’t have a blog, then you can Facebook it, but make sure that your profile is visible to us.

2. You must then leave a comment on this post, giving us the link to your post. You must tell us why you want to win.

3. Show us some Facebook and/or Twitter love.

  3. This has to be the most awesome giveaway I have ever seen! The hard part was limiting it to $100. =)

    After much deliberation, I decided that what I would like the most is this lovely recycled Peony Tunic from jill2day.

    Why do I want to win? Because I love everything Etsy and handmade. My favorite’s list always becomes my dream list, as I could not possibly order everything on it! I, like many Etsy sellers, would not be on Etsy if it was simply to get rich. For many of us it is our love to create vs make money. The key for me is to make enough that I can continue to do what you love.

    So, why do I want to win? It is because I appreciate handmade goods, I want this, and right now it is not in my budget! =)

    It was soo hard to stay under $100! There are many amazing things on Etsy and my favorites list is always growing.

    I want to win because…who wouldn’t!!?? Etsy is my favorite place to shop. Not only are there unique finds, my purchase is an personal transaction with someone like me! I will be working in a more professional capacity as an intern in the fall so I need to spiff up my wardrobe a bit – thus the majority of my wishlist is clothing.

  18. OOPS! I forgot to say why I want to win. Am I disqualified now?

    I want to win because several of these items have been in my “favorites” on Etsy for almost two years, but I keep spending my money on sensible things instead of splurging on these. The pendant and the coffee mug would be for me, things I’d love to have but wouldn’t ordinarily spend my or my hubby’s hard-earned money on. The t-shirt would be for my train-loving son and the onesie for my baby daughter who protests an awful lot sometimes. So I guess I want to win so me and mine could have some lovely handmade things we won’t otherwise get to enjoy.

    Why do i want to win? first of all i love sewing and needle felting! and i have no books in those subjects

Like I said in my blog post, this would be an enormous help in gettng me to the point where I could even start selling my own handspun yarn or knit items, and like many others, I need another source of income in this economy. Unfortunately the old saying “It takes money to make money.” is all too true when trying to stock up. Getting this much raw fiber to work with would be amazing.

While it wouldn’t fix the problems that she’s having to cope with, I think that my wish list would certainly cheer her up.     The reason I want to win is I am starting to get into vintage and French inspired and Oriental themes with my papercrafts, and have been looking for the perfect rubber stamps.

    I found Karaku, a great Etsy site that has fabulous stamps to cover all these. Amazingly, it all came to exactly $100… hope that’s a good omen. These stamps are just what I was looking for and I’m so thrilled to find them.

    Complete and total honesty… Why would I want to win? Well free stuff is always nice… but

    I am a single parent,(and I LOOOVVEE ETSY) unfortunately with school and no job I cannot afford stuff half the time. If I win this not only will I get some stuff to make things for my 6 month old son but also I am getting one thing for myself (a necklace),something I rarely do.

Printable Houses to Use as Christmas Decorations

I guess this isn’t exclusively a kid’s craft or learning activity (though cutting and folding are great for developing fine motor skills!) but I think kids would love having some of these printable holiday houses around the house or classroom to play with in the holiday season. Because they’re made of paper, they’re inexpensive to make, and while there is assembly involved the results are well worth the work.

If you have a cutting machine you can use the cut files from Delia Creates to make making your own paper village that much easier. She actually cut out all her buildings in different colors of card stock and used them to decorate a wreath, but you could also put them on the mantle or on a low table for kids to play with. Make a whole small world scene complete with fake snow, little characters and other elements, and kids are sure to start making their own stories to go with the setup.

This set of houses is printed and cut out using a craft knife. It’s meant to be an advent calendar, with each of the buildings numbered and you can stick a treat inside. But you could also just play with the buildings! You can get a free download of four buildings from Little House on the Corner, or head to the post to see where you can buy the whole set.

The Mavelo website isn’t in English, but their printable gingerbread house template is super cute to use as a gift box or to play with. If you need the instructions the website is in Polish but Google Translate seems to do a pretty good job.

Bora Illustrates has an adorable little house to print, cut and assemble featuring a cat, bird and gingerbread person. You could probably print it in black and white and have your kiddo color it, too.
