Candle making can be a fun and rewarding hobby, but it can also be an expensive one. If you’re new to the craft or just looking to save some money, there are several free eBooks available online that can provide you with helpful tips and techniques for making your own candles at home.

One great resource for free candle making eBooks is the internet. A quick search will reveal a multitude of websites offering free downloads of eBooks on various aspects of candle making. Most of these eBooks are in PDF format, making them easy to download and save for future reference.

Some popular free candle making eBooks include “The Ultimate Candle Making Guide” by James McDonald, “Candle Making Techniques” by Susan Howard, and “The Complete Candle Maker” by Norma Coney. These eBooks cover everything from choosing the right materials and equipment, to preparing waxes and scents, to troubleshooting common problems.

In addition to these general candle making eBooks, there are also many free eBooks available that focus on specific types of candles, such as soy candles, beeswax candles, and gel candles. Whether you’re interested in making candles for personal use or to sell, there is sure to be an eBook that meets your needs.

While free candle making eBooks can be a great resource, it’s important to keep in mind that they may not always provide the most up-to-date or accurate information. It’s a good idea to cross-reference any information you find with other sources, such as books or online forums, to ensure that you’re getting the most reliable information possible.

The Candle Making Manual by Deborah Ward

This is a well-written free manual that shares some cool candle-making tricks! This is where I first found out about using Crisco for increasing scent throw in candles.

Candle Making Made Soy Easy by Dancing Flames

There are simple straightforward instructions on how to make soy candles here.

The Art of Manufacturing Soaps and Candles

This has more on soap than candles, but you’ll find some interesting information and recipes here. It was originally written in the 1800s, so some of it is outdated.

B to B Candle Making – Beginners to Business by Albert Rayl

The first 37 pages is free and it offers a fun lesson on votives with details on equipment, timing, temperature, amount of wax, additives etc. I love his advice on breaking up a big slab of wax. He basically advises you to smash it on the floor once it’s at chest level and/or hit it with a hammer. Luckily, I figured that one out on my own.

If you’re looking to expand your candle making knowledge, there are many books available on Amazon that can provide you with inspiration, tips, and techniques. Here are some popular candle making books that you might want to consider:

  1. The Candlemaker’s Companion: A Complete Guide to Rolling, Pouring, Dipping, and Decorating Your Own Candles by Betty Oppenheimer: This comprehensive guide covers all aspects of candle making, from selecting materials and equipment to creating a variety of different candle types.
  2. The Complete Candlemaker: Techniques, Projects, and Inspiration by Norma Coney: This book provides step-by-step instructions for making a wide range of candles, from simple votives to elaborate decorative candles.
  3. Beeswax Alchemy: How to Make Your Own Soap, Candles, Balms, Creams, and Salves from the Hive by Petra Ahnert: This book provides a wealth of information on beeswax and its many uses, including step-by-step instructions for making candles, soaps, and other beauty products.

These are just a few examples of the many candle making books available on Amazon. Before making a purchase, be sure to read reviews and browse through the contents to ensure that the book is right for you and your interests.
