12 Floral Birthday Cards for Spring and Summer

12 Floral Birthday Cards for Spring and Summer

This tote-ally lovely card from Mindy combines two different die sets, one is a floral set and the other is a fun large tote that she filled with the flowers. I love the pink and coral color combo, it works so well with the browns in the tote and the soft teal card base. Watch her video tutorial on the Hero Arts blog.

If you’re creating handmade birthday cards for anyone born in the Spring or Summer than florals are always a popular theme. Flowers bring so much color to a design and they work well with so many different styles and for so many occasions other than birthdays too. When I’m stuck for a card idea I always reach for my flower stamps and dies, you just can’t go wrong with all those beautiful buds and blooms! So today, let’s get inspired by some floral card ideas for birthdays.

Jill’s beautiful design uses a no-line coloring technique, stamping the florals in a light brown and water coloring them for a soft feminine look. There’s also a die cut white on white label for the sentiment that combines stamping and die cutting. Take a closer look at the Hero Arts blog.

Amy’s card captures all the joy of Summer with a beach scene created with dies. The beach bag is filled with bright tropical flowers along with a sun hat and flip flops on the sandy beach. She added some fun embellishments to the bag and a stamped sentiment to finish it off. Learn more at the Taylored Expressions blog.

This magnificent Magnolia card has stamped flowers colored with bold green leaves and a touch of yellow on the white flowers. The simple ink blended blue background highlights the florals up top with the stamped sentiment down below and a few gems for shine. These products are from Picket Fence Studio.

Just like Dana’s card many have clean and simple backgrounds to really let the flowers shine on the design. Her purple basket is filled with colorful die cut flowers and has a white card base with a small bit of black ink splatter. I love the metallic touches she included for the label and handles! She breaks it all down at The Greetery blog.

Laura’s stunning card has a cascade of florals and leaves, all die cut from colored cardstocks with a bit of inking added for shading. Notice how it goes off the edge of the card for added interest and also how the flowers nestle and curve around the sentiment. Take a closer look at the Simon Says Stamp blog

Dominique’s terrific teal birthday card has a large stamped floral background with inked and heat embossed edges for some shine and texture. For the large sentiment she used a kissing technique by stamping the same florals on to a solid sentiment stamp to transfer the design and then embossed in teal. Sherri’s wonderful card also has a frame of flowers that she stamped and colored in soft pastels, adding an additional stamped butterfly and sentiment popped up on the frame. She also turned the frame into a shaker card with a scripted stamped background. I spotted her idea on the Gina K. Designs Instagram page.

Aiysha’s beautiful bold birthday bouquet card is full of love with a large die cut and inked XOXO and stamped sentiment along with a bold red inked background on the diagonal. I love the bunny peeking out of the stamped flowers and the pops of green and blue that work so nicely with all the red. Take a closer peek at the Mama Elephant blog.

Carol’s amazing Iris card has a heartfelt stamped sentiment with die cut flowers tied with a bow on a dry embossed background. She added extra texture with polka dots on the bow with a gel pen and ink splatters in purple and yellow on the background as well as inking on the flowers and leaves. Find all the details on the Honey Bee Stamps blog.

Kristina’s pretty card has an ombre inked background from purple to pink to yellow to coordinate with the colors on her stamped flowers. To color in those flowers she used ink pads, a foam blender stick and stencils for deep rich coloring. Watch her video tutorial on the K. Werner Design blog.

Nina’s card uses a black out technique for a stunning floral birthday design! She ran white cardstock through the die cutting machine in a floral embossing folder and then colored the flowers with small brushes and ink blending. Then she took a dark blue ink pad and swiped it over the entire panel, adding dots with a stencil and some gems. Watch her video tutorial at the Nina- Marie Design blog.

I hope these wonderful floral birthday cards have brought you some smiles and inspiration today!
