December 12, 2016 by Shellie Wilson

Using your child’s fingerprint or footprint when making Crafts is the trend right now, but before you think “oh no not again”. Take a moment to truly understand how important that little fingerprint will be in 20 years from now. Imagine you child going off to college as you hang this DIY Christmas ornament from when they were tiny on the tree. Okay I am not selling this well its actually quite sad and depressing.

Here is a tutorial to make something that captures a moment in time. Salt Dough Fingerprint Christmas tree.

Looking for more salt dough projects? check these salt dough crafts out on our sister site Craftbits.com

If you are looking for an airdrying clay as an alternative I highly recommend Das Airdrying white clay  I have been using it for over 30 years and it never fails me.

How to Make a Trendy Capybara Card

One of the most popular and trendy animals right now are Capybara. These adorable animals are found in South America and are the largest rodents in the world. These cuties are popping up everywhere from photos on social media, to silly little songs, home decor items and now even paper crafting products.

Christy used a cute new stamp set from Lawn Fawn called “Capybaras!” to create this fun beachy birthday card. Since Capys love the water a beach card is such a perfect setting. She created her beach with ink blending and stencils with Distress Oxide Inks, adding some splatter to the sand. She colored all the stamped images with Copic Markers cutting them out with coordinating dies. And I just love the puny sentiment!

Visit the Christy Gets Crafty blog to watch her tutorial video.
