Today we’re off to Tacoma, Washington to the Museum of Glass. Sounds like a good time to me. Do you want to go to the galleries and see glass? Do you want to learn about glass? Check out the Science of Glass Consortium. This is a place where they meld the art and science to spark the interests, knowledge and imaginations of student. This is done through their hot shop and galleries as well as their studio where hands on projects can really teach the students about it all. Sounds cool. Makes me want to go back to school. Or at least to the Museum of Glass.
These things aren’t limited to students, but aren’t we all student of life always learning and expanding our minds? I thought so. So to help expand your mind here’s a video from the museum of Fred Tschida making a large glass bead. I don’t make beads like this at all. This is rad. They’re drilling holes in the hot glass with the torch on it. Check it out. Let’s go to Tacoma!!
