Trashbag Rehab is monthly DIY Craftivism in Melbourne for anyone who’s overdosed on cutesy craft crap. Each session features a different project, guest artist/therapist and musos. Up next? Trashbag Rehab #5: Bang! Knit! Purl! KaPOW!! Crocheted Explosives. The project is crocheted dynamite sticks (& grenades for the more advanced).
Monday, 3rd August
5:30pm – 9pm
Workers’ Club (Old Rob Roy).
Check out the Craft Cartel site for prices and RSVP info.
Craft Cartel are inviting all those opposed to the proposed Gunns Bell Bay Pulp Mill to get their knit on and whip up a ton of crocheted explosives. Rise up gentle people! We want to collect lots & lots & lots to show the nation how many are against the dastardly Mill. When even the knitters get mad, someone’s gotta listen.
The project will be officially launched at the next Trashbag Rehab event, Bang! Knit! Purl! KaPOW! but we’ll be collecting explosives until the end of October. Check out tutorials here.
