Are you ready to party? I bet you are. Having friends over, enjoying drinks, food, and good times are pretty incredible. Partying is a national pastime. Everybody loves it, and what better way to round out a fantastic shindig than by adding in your own original crafts? It is a perfect way to show your appreciation to your guests, introduce them to something new or merely show off how absolutely awesome you are. You may have decided on the theme, cuisine and wine already, but have you decided whether or not you’re going to share your fantastic craft capabilities with your fellow party goers? I really think that you should. Apparently you agree with me, because you’re still reading. Here are a few steps to deciding on what kind of craft you’re going to use to get the party started.
Keep it simple, stupid
Ok, the thing about inviting guests is that you always want to put your best foot forward. That’s all well and good, but usually that means you’ll wind up selecting something complicated. Complicated crafts require a lot of time, money, and aggravation. You want to keep things simple. You can include a goodie bag with a bar of homemade soap. Mix up a delicious snack to give with a pretty wrapper. Whatever it is, you don’t want to be wrapping it up as your guests are coming in the door, so keep it simple!
Take home gift
As you’ll recall from the last paragraph ( have you been paying attention) I mentioned that you can send your guests home with a gift. Why, you might wonder, would this be a good option? Well, there are a few good reasons: you can give your friends a permanent reminder of a wonderful night spent with you. You can give them a useful item that will become a household staple. Also, if you have your own crafting business, you’re exposing your friends to what you do and sharing your love of your craft with them. It means more to them because you’re giving them something that you love, because really that’s what it is all about.
To craft with guests or without guests?
Anybody can play drinking games or watch horror movies. If you want to make a memorable experience that your guests will always remember, you could consider coming up with a craft that you can all do together. Set up mini craft stations around the house, and give them an option of what craft they can do. Mix up sugar scrubs in the kitchen, paint in the dining room, do whatever you feel will be something that even the non-crafty folks could begin to work out.
You’re a party animal, and it is time that everyone in your circle know it. If you want to make your party memorable, show those craft skills off, and maybe even invite your friends to enjoy the fun. After all, doing something different that shows your invitees who you are is ALWAYS a good thing.
