Have you noticed, flower looms are having a raging comeback. I remember coveting those beautiful flowery afgans back in my college days but not having the umpf to loop up hundreds of yarn blooms. These days, I can sit still a lot longer, and I’ve actually invested in a couple of vintage looms to experiment with. So I was excited to see Cathy Callahan’s experiments with looming floral wire (above) and hemp beading cord (below). Oh, the possibilities! See more on Cathy’s blog, Cathy of California.

Cardboard and yarn make great side-eye kitties
I love kitties and I love yarn, oh and “ugly Christmas sweaters” so this craft is happening now in my house. I have jars of scraps of yarn and of course recycled cardboard from boxes. Prowl on over to the blog Krokotak for the tutorial on how to make side-eye kitties in “ugly Christmas sweaters”. Have fun drawing all sorts of cat faces.
