A SELF-STRIPING MODULAR MOMENT

SELF STRIPING MODULAR DESIGN

Wish I’d thought to combine self-striping yarn with modular construction.  This combination creates a really interesting but simple to create effect.  The babyghan shown is knit, but check out the diagram to figure out an easy way to convert this idea to crochet to produce the same effect.

This design is a ‘throw back’ to those quilt designs I wrote about a couple weeks back.  An optical illusion that’s fairly easy to obtain with motifs and yarn that does more than half the ‘design’ work for you.

So, grab those extra skeins of sock yarn and start crocheting up your squares and rectangles.  Scroll down a bit more than half way on this page to see how to assemble your motifs.  Voila – a very cool babyghan!  Here’s the link:

DIY Shirt Extender – Sewing Pattern

I like having a little extra coverage when I wear leggings, but I could never find a cute top that was just the right length. So I decided to make this Easy Sew Shirt Extender! This is so simple to sew and is an easy sewing project for beginners. It is easy to layer under your shirt or top of choice and I added some lace trim to mine for a fancier look. You can mix and match colors and fabrics to suit your needs!
