A needle felted Japanese Kanji Pin

August 28, 2009 by Linda Lanese

pin1

What a delightful gift for anytime of the year.  Use the colors you like and go to town. A needle felted Japanese Kanji Pin will make a big statement, whether you wear it on a sweater or attach it to a hat or purse. Kanji is the name for the symbolic characters in the Japanese writing system. Our model is wearing the character for fire. You can find more Kanji characters, and even custom translations, on the Internet. The pin takes very little time or materials and is an excellent project for learning the amazingly simple technique of needle felting. from Leisure Arts.

How to Make a Taylor Swift Inspired Card

How to Make a Taylor Swift Inspired Card

If you’ve got a friend or a teen that’s obsessed with Taylor Swift then here’s the perfect card for you to make for them! Caitlin used the “Uptown Girl Loves to Sing” stamp from Stamping Bella and colored her to match a performance outfit from Taylor. Using Copic markers she colored the image in, also using them to create tiny dots for the look of shimmer and glitter and drew in fishnet details on the tights too. The background is silver glitter paper with a die cut pink fluffy cloud frame around it which she used the cut out section for the stage. And to take this cool idea really over the top it’s also a shaker card with large glittery sequins in the background too.
