A classic motif for both back to school and fall time is apples, so if you’re getting into the school spirit, let’s make some fun apple crafts.
Paper Plate Apple Crafts
There are a bunch of great apple crafts that you can make with a paper plate, which is great because we probably all have paper plates around.
Simple Everyday Mom has a cute printables to turn a painted paper plate into a cute apple with a face.
Use torn paper to make this apple with a worm craft on a paper plate from Mom Brite. Another torn paper one is this apple core paper plate craft from 123 Homeschool 4 Me.
Kids Activities Blog has another cute apple core craft made with a plate.
Decorate a plate with yarn to make an apple like this one from About a Mom.
This bitten apple craft from Kids Craft Room is super cute and you can trace your kid’s hand to make it holding onto the apple.
Lacing and Weaving
While some of these use paper plates, I felt like they should be their own category since they’re a craft that also helsp with mine motor skill development.
Make a super cute lacing craft with a worm threading through the apple with this tutorial from Kids Craft Room.
Turn your plate into an open circle and make this threading craft from 123 Homeschool 4 Me.
I love this apple weaving activity from Non Toy Crafts, which takes the classic paper plate weaving and turns it into an apple.
Or you can make a bit of weaving on a cardboard loom and use it to decorate an apple like on this project from Hello Wonderful.
Kids can practice their sewing skills with this classic paper bag apple craft from Buggy and Buddy.
Painted Apple Crafts
I love a good painting project and of course there are lots of options when you’re looking for apple crafts.
You can make apples with any painting technique you like. We’ve got marble painting (The Crafting Chicks), using Fizzy Paint (Messy Little Monster) or puffy paint (I Heart Crafty Things) or painting apples on a tree using cotton balls (Projects with Kids).
Speaking of trees, you can make a handprint tree like this one from Arty Crafty Kids and decorate it with stamped apples or any other kinds of apples you like.
For a deeper dive into stamping with apples, check out this post from Natural Beach Living. And speaking of stamping, did you know you can also make apple shapes by stamping with a pool noodle? Check out this idea from Gluesticks and Gumdrops.
Technically this one uses foam sheets and not paint but you could paint elements of it if you needed to, and I just love it so I had to share this Popsicle stick apple core craft from Simple Mom Project.
