April 12, 2021 by Shellie Wilson

Let me begin by saying every day should be Earth Day, but it isn’t. So April 22nd has been set aside every year to make sure that people around the world stop and take notice of the world around them. Sounds obvious right? but it is not, it is a moment to be grateful and an opportunity to help mother nature too.

Here is a roundup of kids’ crafts that are aimed at teenagers to celebrate World Earth day. Don’t forget to not only make crafts for World earth day but to get out in your community and make a difference there too. Pick up rubbish, plant some trees or save a wildlife habitat, every little thing DOES matter.

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22nd to raise awareness about environmental issues and to promote conservation and sustainability. It was first celebrated in 1970, and since then it has grown into a global event that is celebrated in more than 190 countries. The main goal of Earth Day is to educate people about the importance of protecting our planet and preserving its natural resources for future generations.

Teaching children about Earth Day and environmental issues is important for several reasons. First, children are the future stewards of the planet and they need to understand the importance of protecting it. Teaching them about the environment at an early age can help them develop a sense of responsibility and a commitment to preserving the planet.

Secondly, children are more likely to adopt environmentally-friendly behaviors if they learn about the issues at a young age. For example, if they learn about the importance of recycling, they are more likely to recycle when they become adults.

Thirdly, understanding the environment and its issues can also help children to be more informed, curious and active citizens. They learn to question, reflect and act in the world around them, this is an essential step in becoming a responsible and engaged adult.

Finally, Earth Day is an opportunity to connect with nature and appreciate the beauty of the planet. By participating in Earth Day activities, children can learn about the natural world and the importance of preserving it for future generations.

In summary, Earth Day is an annual event that is celebrated around the world to raise awareness about environmental issues and to promote conservation and sustainability. Teaching children about Earth Day and environmental issues is important as it can help them develop a sense of responsibility, adopt environmentally-friendly behaviors, become informed, curious and active citizens and appreciate the beauty of nature.
