Salt dough is a versatile and easy-to-use material that can be used to make a wide variety of crafts, including Christmas ornaments. It’s a simple mixture of flour, salt, and water that can be shaped and molded into any shape you desire. One of the great things about salt dough is that it’s inexpensive and non-toxic, making it a safe option for kids to use.

Here’s a simple recipe for making salt dough:

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water
Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
Gradually add the water and mix the dough until it comes together.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and pliable.
Roll out the dough to your desired thickness and use cookie cutters or a knife to cut out your desired shapes.
Use a straw or toothpick to make a hole at the top of your ornament, to thread string or ribbon through later.
Place the ornaments on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 200 degrees F for 2-3 hours or until dry and hard.
Once cool, paint, decorate and add a ribbon or string for hanging.
Salt dough is a great option for making Christmas ornaments, it’s easy to make, easy to shape, and it’s safe for children to use. You can paint and decorate them however you like, and they will last for many years to come.
