With all this homeschooling going on don’t forget kids are still kids and they love a good movie! The best thing about “movie time” is it gives you the parent time for take a little me time and rejuvenate yourself.
We don’t need to feel guilty if the kids are occupied with a version of downtime “movies” that are actually educating them at the same time.
But isn’t screen time bad?
Well not all screen time is bad.
While it is important to limit children’s screen time and encourage them to engage in other activities such as reading, outdoor play, and social interaction, movies can be a valuable educational tool for children when used appropriately.
Movies can provide children with an opportunity to learn about different cultures, historical events, and important social issues. They can also stimulate a child’s imagination and creativity, promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and help children develop empathy and emotional intelligence.
That being said, it is important for parents to be mindful of the content and rating of the movies they choose for their children, and to watch movies with their children and engage in discussions about what they are watching. Additionally, parents should ensure that their children have a balanced and varied daily routine that includes physical activity, social interaction, and other educational activities.
