13 Handmade Masculine Card Ideas

June 10, 2025 by Heather Holbrook

13 Handmade Masculine Card Ideas

If your guy is handy fixing things around the house try creating a card with cool tools. These two designs have different fun features like a gate fold style card and trendy faux postage with heart felt sentiments. I spotted these at the Gina K. Designs Instagram page.

If you struggle to create cards for guys you’re not alone, I know many of us card makers sometimes have trouble coming up with masculine designs. Hopefully this post will give you some ideas not only for Father’s Day that’s coming up soon but for birthday, anniversary and other celebrations for the men in your life.

Below each photo you’ll find a link, click it for more details like tutorials, techniques and products used.

For a dude who is into reptiles and amphibians or just loves to explore the outdoors this frog card from Channin is so charming. Using products from Hero Arts hers is also interactive with a neat shaker element of sequins moving among all the green leaves and foliage. She breaks it all down at the Crafts by Channin blog.

This design from Megan is a great example of using pastels for a masculine card, the colors just really work perfectly for a sunset scene. The little stamped mice are having fun sailing and strolling the beach with a light house behind and a touching sentiment. See how the interactive element works over at the Lawn Fawn blog.

For the Dad who’s always wearing a baseball cap this fun card from Savanna has a bright orange and blue color scheme. Try using the colors of their favorite sports team to personalize the design. I came across her idea on the Pink and Main Instagram page.

For a man who loves a road trip this fun travel card from Lauren has lots of cool patterns and texture. She used stencils with inks and pastes to create some amazing backgrounds and colored her stamped car full of animals with ink pads and water for a soft watercolor look. Plaid and Stars in rusty red create a nice frame and background for this faux postage card from Elaine. Using stamps from Sweet November she colored her guy and the backdrop with Copic Markers, adding a die cut and stamped birthday banner. Take a closer peek at the Marker Geek blog.

For the great outdoorsman Gennette created a stunning fishing scene in the wilderness. She used a masking technique to stamp all the images where she wanted them, using mostly monochromatic grays but adding more color to the fisherman so he stands out. Learn more over at the Art Impressions blog.

This awesome lighthouse card was created with a die cut lighthouse cut from red, blue and white cardstocks over a stenciled wave background. There’s a stamped sentiment and a cool stamped wax seal too. Watch a video tutorial and check out more ocean themed card at the Spellbinders blog.

A sweet fox is really taking flight on this beautiful card from Kassi. I love the muted watercolors she used, it gives the card design a wonderful story book feel. I spotted her idea at the Colorado Stamp Company Instagram page.
