Tarrah used lots of printed butterfly dies to create a wreath around this sweet mom and child photo. She also used puffy butterfly stickers with stitched trails flying off from the wreath as well. A stamped date and printed title finish off the darling design. Learn more at the Doodlebug blog.
Mother’s Day will be here soon in the US and it’s a wonderful time to show Mom and all the maternal figures in our lives how much we love and appreciate them for all the things they do for us. Snap photos together with all the kids, take Mom out to brunch, send grandma beautiful flowers and snap lots of pics so we can create some wonderful scrapbook layouts with memories celebrating all the love and care we give and get from our Moms.
Beneath each photo you’ll find a link, click it for more info like products used, tips and tricks.
I love the color combo on this Mom page from Rachel! She created a wide center border of strips and scallops of pattern papers in different lengths. She used tickets and puffy heart stickers in the same colors for a couple of clusters as well as tiny stamped designs. I came across her idea at the Elle’s Studio Instagram page.
Paige used a floral frame around her pretty pink page. And instead of backing the flowers she added printed die cut flowers over top for great layering and dimension. Sentiments are clustered in a couple of spots along with a sticker title in tones of blue pulled from the flowers. Learn more at the Paige Taylor Evans blog.
Debbi used a FREE floral cut file and backed it with pattern papers as well as including printed dies on her heartfelt layout. I love all the sweet sentiments and colorful rainbow borders she added top and bottom! Find more details and a link to the floral die cut file at the Paper Issues blog.
Capture Mom with her best furry friend on a sweet layout like this one from Nathalie. She used the negative space of a heart cut from cardstock that really draws the eye in. She’s added pink and purple flowers around the heart shape with black and white photos, a little ribbon, stamped title, sentiment strips and tiny gems. She breaks it all down at the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog.
Kim used lots of lace and lavender on her beautiful Mother and Daughter layout. There’s also some antique inspired ephemera and paper tearing for an added vintage feel. Find her step by step tutorial at the Uniquely Creative blog.
Turn square frames on their edge for a fun diamond pattern like Vicki did on her beautiful page design. She even distress the pattern paper edges for texture. She’s added clusters of floral and bird dies with splashes of watercolor behind. Learn more at the Simple Stories blog.
Jana created this wonderful digital scrapbook layout using images from Katie Pertiet Designs. It’s another version of horizontal strips with pattern papers, lace and and lots of embellishments that look very dimensional but are of course flat. I love the muted color pallet she chose and the little sentiments scattered about! I spotted this on the Jana Holden Instagram page.
This pretty square layout has the photo in the center with burgundy die cut letters to create the title. Surrounding the photo are lots of die cut flowers cut from white paper with painted centers and leaves, it looks like it’s raining flowers all around the photo. Take a closer peek at the Altenew blog.
This lovely layout has a focus on photos with a few squares for words, embellishments and journaling. A border punch adds a nice scalloped texture along with pattern papers printed with faux texture. Find step by step directions over at the Creative Memories blog.
This stunning double page layout from Allison has a row of photos along the bottom and a row of fun and festive tags across the top with a row of flowers in between. The tags are the perfect places for smaller photos, journaling and sentiments. Take a closer look at the Allison Davis for Scrapbook Generation blog.
The wonderfully sweet page from Jessica has a wavy rainbow over a wash of watercolor with lots of color coordinating dies. For dimension and texture she’s also used an acrylic title, wooden embellishments, twists of thread and retro buttons. I came across her idea on the Shimmerz Paints Instagram page.
I hope you’ve been inspired to create some meaningful scrapbook layouts to celebrate Mother’s Day!
