It might seem silly to scrapbook about scrapbooking but it’s a big part of our lives and we should capture all aspects of ourselves in our scrapbook pages including things we love doing. Personally crafting is a huge part of mine and probably yours too. These types of layouts can include getting together and crafting with your friends, attending crops, conventions and classes, photos of your crafting space, project you’re proud of or pics of you crafting and creating any type of art or craft you enjoy. Today we’ll take a look at some wonderful scrapbook layout ideas that capture our love of crafts.
Below each photo you’ll see a link, click it for more info like tutorials, products used or tips.
Kerei created a unique wreath design with flaps of crafty pattern paper folded over and stitched down to go around her large circle. Inside the white circle is a large photo from a crafting retreat with a lots of crafting images tucked around, hand written journaling and a fun die cut letter and banner title. I spotted her idea on her Kirei65 Instagram page.
Paige practically filled her entire layout with a large die cut that says Crafty Friends are the Best Friends. Inside each letter she added either pattern papers or photos for a dynamic design that holds a surprising amount of photos. Scatters of small flowers and gems help move the eye around the page. Visit the Paige Taylor Evans blog for a closer peek.
Jo created an artists color wheel to highlight the stunning rainbow quilt in the photo. In each colored section are tags, hearts, ricrac ribbon and journaling that coordinate with it’s color. The vintage papers background hints at the long tradition of quilting. I came across her page on the Jobo_creates Instagram page.
Traci actually created an entire mini album project to celebrate her love of crafting. These pages have lots of color balanced with a bit of black, fun and feminine embellishments and a pocket to tuck in items like project directions, journaling or extra photos. You can see the whole album on the Artsy Albums blog.
Wendy also created a wreath style starting with stenciling a large circle of starbursts with Distress Inks. Over top she used a bunch of crafty elements, placing her photo and journaling inside. This is a great way to use up lots of smaller embellishments! Learn more at the Hey Little Magpie blog.
Whether you craft on the kitchen table or have your own dedicated craft room you should scrap that space. Tracy created pie wedges using pattern paper to place behind the photo of her crafty space. I love how she inked two corners to place her die cut sentiment over, it makes them really pop! Find more details at the Creative Scrapbooker blog.
I feel it’s also important to document the family members in our lives that create those handmade items that we will treasure forever. Here’s a digital layout celebrating cherished sewn items made by Mom featuring lots of faux fabric and stitching and sewing notions. The digi paper collection used comes from The Lilypad.
Here’s another graphic colorful wheel design with overlapping wedges of patterns and color. There’s also lots of fun artsy images like paint tubes and brushes, paint splatter, smaller color wheels and a fun thick acrylic title. I found this layout at the Sarah_Scraps75 Instagram page.
Jana scrapped about a scrapbook retreat in pinks and teals with a wide middle border of photos and a darling crafty girl scene with a large title at the bottom. She balanced her large center photo with round journaling on one side and a fun Crafting is My Jam jar on the other with scatterings of buttons, flowers and more. She breaks it all down at her Jana Eubank blog.
For her favorite room layout Tegan die cut lots of houses from bright and cheerful pattern papers, layering and staggering them down the page, adding some fun outdoors elements too. I adore the fun and funky title she created with alphabet stickers on top of each house! Find the details at the Bella Blvd. blog.
I think by now it’s obvious that a color wheel is a great theme for a crafty layout. This one from Julie also has long sewn floss in matching colors over each section. Below she created an awesome hanging banner of colorful paint chips and clusters of embellishments. Visit the Hey Little Magpie blog for more info.
I hope you’ve been artfully inspired to create your own scrapbook layouts that focus on your favorite crafty hobbies!
