Tampon Craft Projects

June 30, 2007 |

Tampon Crafts are fun little projects made from yep literally tampons.

I found Tampon Lights for your next “I hate Periods” party or a Menopause Angel for that lady on the train you sit next to who constantly has hot flushes and looks like she needs a laugh.

Kids party coming up ? Let the kids make some Tampon rockets (yeah right) or better still make them up and send them home in their party loot bags.

Are you not out and proud with your tampons and rather them be discreet? then try a Tampon Case to carry them in including this rather beautiful Asian themed carry case or your very own tampon applicator cozy.
How about just cutting down to the tampon basics and crocheting your own tampons for a economical and rustic touch. (ouch)

Now that you have used all those tampons your bound to have some boxes left over right ?

I have that covered too with a Tampon Box memo board maybe you can memo yourself to have PMS.

If you don’t use tampons then how about a pair of maxi pad slippers at the very least you can wear them to dry the floors after a bladder mishap.

Everything “Else” you can do with Tampons

A lost of everything “else” you can do with tampons whilst remaining dignified (well almost)

This is so helping me recover from last week’s embarrassing moment when I dropped a tampon from my pocket at work while a couple of people were standing next to me waiting to ask me some questions.

    Thanks!

This got a good laugh out of me. I needed it. Thanks :) I think I will pass out of making crafts out of these personal items though.

Did you ever see the episode of The Young Ones called, “The party?” It involved one of the housemates pulling a tampon from the wrapper and then calling it a mouse. Too funny! You can see it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk4a9o6-2zw

Why are so many of the “recycled” crafts not recycled? Recycling does not involve buying new products and making crafts out of them. It means using things that would otherwise go in the trash.

I have to say this is a first for me. I have never seen anyone really make anything out of those (ok, once my friend’s little kid took a few and put them on the walls and said they were her stickers but.. besides that this is a first!

By the way, you have a nice site.

LOL, j…you are more than welcome to come up with a perky craft from your used tampons. Would love to see THAT happen.

And of course this is a recycled project. Women that finally make their way through menopause may end up with a stash of pads or tampons they don’t need anymore. It’s not exactly the kind of donation that Goodwill is going to accept or sell. Also, for women who’ve had hysterectomies because of disease (endometriosis and uterine fibroids being a common reason) or because of such diseases as ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, or cervical cancer that has spread, this can be a fun and humorous way to deal with an otherwise painful reminder that they no longer need their “feminine protection”.

LOVE the pad slippers…I’m going to make some of those.

[…] If you are at all interested in recycled craft, then probably at some point you have looked at your tampons and thought “I know what you’re suppose to be for, but what have you done for me lately?”  Well, check out the post at Craft Gossip on how to make your own tampon crafts, like the party lights shown below.  If reinventing tampon uses isn’t for you, also check out their links to tutorials for handy carrying cases. This was sent around my work as a humorous joke email, after people started seeing them I started getting people asking for the “super absorbent” kind I think I may actually make a couple of pairs just to see their faces.

  16. Ruth on December 24, 2007 7:32 pm

We found a practical use for the super size pads during WW2. We sent boxes of them to servicemen overeseas, especially the infantry. They put them in their boots for comfort. They asked for them. Anything for our boys!

Would be fun to craft with these products and place them in an area to shock a guy! :)

For some strange reason I try all kinds of pads - there are so many choices! One day I noticed some have a wrapper that comes close to looking like some version of mulberry paper. I haven’t tried using it for any stamping or card projects. But I may, after hearing about the pad slippers!

  21. Debbie S on May 5, 2008 1:52 pm

Actually- my daughter’s colorguard team uses pads for padding on the butts of their rifles. They cut them to fit- and then wrap them with white tape. The look on a competition inspector’s face when he asked how the girls got them so ’squishy’ was AMAZING!

I am taking a class that requires me to look at lots of different blogs. When I stumbled across this blog it made the hours I have spent with burning eyes all worth it! What wild ideas you have! I love it!
