oh gosh – I though super baggy overalls would make me look awesome when I was in my teens
I think my worst fashion mistake was a holiday sweater that left sequins and sweater pills everywhere I went. And did it have a lot of sequins!!
My worst fashion mistake… probably wearing costumes on average days in high school. My most notable one was Alice in Wonderland.
Hoping I win this! I’m interning for a guy who crafts with leather so it would be perfect for me to have one too ^^
Puffed up bangs when I was younger.
My worst was sporting boy George hair complete with hat
My worst fashion mistake was wearing black acid wash jeans with a black and white plaid flannel shirt with big 80′s hair!
haha…I dont have a fashion mistake because I have never wore any trend..
-
designing killer pants, (7 years young & new to sewing!) Thought I knew it all!!!
No pattern of course (my measurements were right!) BUT!
Did not know pants were cut with funny bum and crotch curves for “ease”. Thought I could do it better.
It was a birthday party to remember. I sat in the chair most of the time, and my mom laughed her rear off!
When I wore a bright pink patterned skirt over the top of denim flare jeans! I had decided that the look was fashionable when it oh so wasn’t!
Oh God why? o_o … i remember the days of highschool when i was wearing the biiiig, huge, enormous jeans with black tshirt (rap trend..) ….the outfit was double my size…
oh..and im a girl
imagine that
Oh the 80′s…..so many mistakes, so little time. I’m 5’3″ and actually wore gauchos….on purpose.
Fluffy purple pants, a kids t shirt that became mid drift length, and a kids parka with the sleeves cut off to make it into a vest…enough said.
My worst fashion mistake was probably a haircut–that I did myself!
My worst fashion mistake was listening to my friend who decided it would be cool to get the haircolor at Sally Beauty supplies that was supposed to make my hair platnium…it had a purple base and I ended up with Lavendar hair..of course at the time I lived in Las Vegas, so you would think this was ok…boy did people stare at me.
My worst fashion mistake was mixing stripes that ran two different ways for pants and top. Why didn’t I look at myself in the mirror before I left the house?
The worst fashion mistake I made was right before leaving for a once in a lifetime trip to Italy when I was 20 I washed all of my clothes and threw in a new cloth bag at the last minute. Needless to say, my trip to Italy was known as the ‘purple adventure’ as my purple bag turned all of my clothes purple! Live & Learn..
When in high school, I made a headband with small Xmas balls on it. I thought it was cool but my friends kindly told me to ditch it.
Worst fashion mistake (I can only think of 2, but I probably still make a lot). 1. Beautiful roomy purse that hung down to my knees.(I’m only 4’11″) I could still use that roto punch to correct overlong purses! 2. Not dressing age appropiately. (The Trendy Top sure would help with this, lol, as I still fit into hip huggers but they don’t flatter me)
My husband would say it’s my really
big framed glasses from the 80′s. lol!
Hot pants! Oh my gosh, they were sooo short and I actually thought they made me look good. It was a young and fun time back then:)
Probably just buying that had to have outfit that once I got it home realized it made me look like a house!
Two that come to mind both include shoes. I was all dressed for a Christmas party and once I stepped into the banquet hall I realized that I was still wearing my loafers–I had forgotten to change my shoes! Another time I had to dress in the dark due to a power outage and I grabbed my shoes–but the designs didn’t match.
I have wanted one of these punches for ages, it would great if I could win these. Great giveaway, thanks.
Once in college I wore a one shouldered teal shirt/dress that had huge yellow flowers that went from my covered shoulder to the opposite bottom hem. Needless to say I never wore that monstrosity again.
When I look back to old pictures and can’t believe the eye glasses I was wearing. What was I thinking???? They were so huge!
My fashion mistake is I have the same long straight hairstyle I’ve had since the 80s.
for 4th of july my friend and i decided to spray paint pants with the flag colors, etc. we wore them, they were hard and crunchy and totally tacky!
Back in high school, I am ashamed to admit I wore athletic socks with my sandals! That is hands-down my worst fashion mistake ever.
I had this gorgeous soft white sweater that felt like a fluffy bunny, but whenever I wore it, I left white “hair” over everything I touched…yikes!
I wore really huge earrings when I was in high school. They were huge and my daughter saw a picture and really laughed!
I decided to make a lovely pink corduroy suit but forgot that ther was a nap to the fabric. One back panel of my skirt was turned the wrong way, so I had one light side and one dark side to my skirt. Never made that mistake again.
Ok, think late 80s. I was in high school and I was all headbanger. I would wear jeans with holes in them with black tights underneath with a headbangers ball tshirt. Then to top that, I died white streaks in my hair. One on each side and then a little curl in front. Hideous!!!
I always where my maternity jeans when I have no clean laundry…embarrassing
My worst fashion mistake was an outfit my Grandmother gave me for Christmas when I was 14…. Lavender Velvet Pants, and a Floral Halter in a shiny material. I had to wear it…… Grandma bought it just for me… but to see myself in the pictures…. Y I K E S !!!!!
wow! i’m sure i’ve made many fashion mistakes, but by far the worst had to be the bangs that started way too far back and were way too puffy and stiff…
Waaaaaayyyy back when I cut my naturally curly hair short for the first time in my life and couldn’t do a thing with it. The only thing that finally worked was sausage curls around my face. OMG why didn’t someone smack some sense into me?
When I was in High School the fad was a haircut that was really short on one side and at the back, but angled way longer on the other side. I looked hideous.
in junior high I thought the elephant bell bottoms made me look great ! Yuck!
So many to little time and space to name them all. But I remember many years ago, while at work I noticed the hem to my skirt was falling out. So I used a trick I heard about. Staple the hem together. An hour or so later I looked and behold my stockings had lot’s and lot’s of runs in them. Seems the staples were snagging the stockings. I was so red. Looked like a hobo. LOL…..
Wearing black leggings and then rolling them up tightly about five inches and having two layers of different color socks all bunched up together, paired with a lovely striped shirt :[ Oh! and let’s not forget the teased bangs with a side ponytail and bright colored scrunchy! Yikes!!
My worst fashion mistake is not being good with colors and know I don’t match a lot of the time.
i need one of these. the husband always says wear a belt or get a longer shirt lol.
Man, I did those lambada skirts with cycling tights (I was young!!!)
Man I have alot of fashion mistakes. I wore these walmart “jeans” once in highschool. They were a shiny bluish red. Its hard to explain but I loved them. Not only were they weird, I was selfconcious and I wore my pants like 4 sizes too big.
Wearing size six in childrens jeans when I was ten.
Oh dear, I seem to remember being obsessed with one particular Christmas sweatshirt that actually lit up… batteries and everything!
I would have to say my biggest fashion mistake was my really big glasses of the 80′s that seemed to take over my face.
There have been many fashion don’ts! One of my favorites, though, has to be when I was in HS in the late 70s and I wore baby pink satin bellbottoms with a baby pink guaze blouse. I had jute wrapped platforms. I wore this to see my first concert-David Bowie in Hollywood!
Worse fashion mistake was wearing my skirts too short.
My worst fashion mistakes are wearing all of the knitted clothing that my mother-in-law makes me. I don’t want to hurt her feelings:)
I wore a red jacket, brown jogging pants and pink slippers to my band practice at Church ….. i looked horrible!
I have a hard time finding shoes that fit and when I do, I buy in every colors. Needless to say, there were many days when I accidentally wore the same shoe but in 2 different colors and didn’t catch it
I went to a job interview wearing one white and one cream colored shoe, needless to say–I didn’t get the job!
i was always late with the trends. We had no money when I was young so I never had anything “new” until the style was already over. For some reason, that’s still happening today….
Worst fashion mistake was making a dress and not wearing it around the house first. I had not sewn the skirt liner in correctly and the liner was hanging out the bottom of the back of my skirt. It looked far worse than it sounds.
My worst would be using QT (quick tan lotion that used to turn your skin orange) and squiring myself down with a water bottle and laying out in the sun. Scared the life out of my Mom, later that evening! Glad I didn’t have to go anywhere for a couple of days.
Definitely a pair of pink Cowboy boots, I don’t do Country so what was I thinking lol
Probably the overalls with only one strap hooked. Or maybe the multiple pairs of socks at the same time. Or maybe it was….!
Every day of my life is a “fashion faux pa” but it is my style and I like it like it.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Putting a temporary black dye in my hair for a costume. As it washed out, my hair turned green.
overalls…definitely overalls!
Coloring my hair blue for a party. It started raining and my clothes became blue as well
wearing this jumper that i thought would look cool with leggings but it really didn’t since it was too short! But on top of that later on, a hole formed in the leggings at the back and it was the worst!
Wearing a dress from when i was younger to a 60s themed party in middle school that was way too small! not only did it really hurt, but everyone could tell!!
oh god hot pink spandex shorts I would say….
My worst fahion mistake is not noticig for hours that my zipper was down on my pants!
My worst by far was a tshirt I wore when I was about 10. It had a ice cream cones with little puff balls. But the puff balls were quite inappropriately placed. :/
In 4th grade, my mom gave me a permanent, we did not take the perm rollers out, needless to say, we couldn’t get a brush through the hair let alone a comb! I was kinky for quite a while, and very humiliated.
I was wearing oversized tee shirts. They were baggy the shoulder seams were in the wrong places they were to long. I generally looked sloppy, like I didn’t care. It was an awful look and no one bothered to tell md. Ugh.
worse fachion mistake: maxi dresses. Sure do feel good, but when I looked back at the pictures, nope! I look like potato sack.
My worst fashion mistake? Wow, the older you are, the more opportunity you’ve had for these… Here are a few – red overalls with Earth shoes, palazzo pants in a red, white and blue chevron pattern, jeans so tight I had to lay down to zip them up. Those were the days!
I really need this to fix my purse!
always wearing a XL t-shirt to cover my belly
My worst fashion mistakes would have to be in the 80′s…wow…some crazy clothes I wore..disco outfits and bright blue or purple eyeshadow…ewww.
leg warmers in neon colors! lol
logging boots to work at the bar
my worst fashion mistake was wearing oversized black pants and an oversized black sweatshirt in highschool. Thanks for the giveaway!
boots to work
Mine would have to be the big baggy shirts with knit pants. I think I spent at least 2 years living in that style.
Mine was a huge perm that made me look like like I stuck my finger in a light socket. At least that was what my DH said. LOL
When I was a girl in middle school, I wanted to emulate my big brother, and would wear his shirts to school!!
over sized t-shirt that’s tiedyed to go to town
I wore ankle socks and sandals with 3 inch thick soles all summer long when I was a small kid – even on our family vacation!
A paisley, long sleeved @ high collard, Victorian looking dress that I wore to church as a preteen.
It has to be the overalls i used to wear!

neon blues “bodyguard” type jacket with high ankle jeans, neon pink socks and shoes with green neon shoelace!!! I was a neon lover!!! Now I look back & cannot believe my style back then!! lol
My worst fashion mistake was permed hair and big bags–I was an 80′s child!
My biggest fashion mistake?? In high school I was into Polka Dots & would wear Polka dot hat, jewelry and shirt (sometimes with the polka dot belt). OMG! What was I thinking!
over sized tyedyed t-shirt and logging boots
Electric Blue suede boots, electric blue sweater, electric blue mascara, and electric blue rhinestone earrings – white pants though.
two different shoes when i finally looked
