Bondera is a double-sided, pressure-sensitive, peel-and-stick adhesive that makes custom tiling projects cost-effective and mess free. Bondera was named one of Lowe’s Top 10 Innovative Products in 2011 and is endorsed by Hildi Santo Tomas, best known for her work on the popular TLC home makeover show Trading Spaces.

Since its introduction to the DIY world, Bondera has helped create eye-catching kitchen and bathroom backsplashes. To use, simply apply the adhesive to any clean, flat, level surface including drywall, plywood, laminate and Formica®, and follow the simple steps below:

  1. Peel off the liner and apply to the surface that will be tiled.
  2. Stick tile in place to Bondera. Tiles placed lightly on Bondera may be moved for up to 20 minutes after the initial applications, allowing users to perfect the tile design.
  3. Grout the tiles the same day.

Bondera also has a variety of additional creative uses for all areas of the home as well. The adhesive is perfect for small craft projects, including dressing up a picture frame or refurbishing a dull pencil holder. Bondera is ideal for weekend projects like tiling a mosaic design on an old coffee table that needs sprucing up, or crafting a large mosaic mural on a wall for a truly custom touch to the home.

“I love out-of-the-box, creative tiling designs. It’s exciting to discover new ways to incorporate imaginative patterns or mosaics into kitchen and bath backsplashes, add pizzazz to accent walls or give a colorful face-lift to outdated tables,” explains Hildi. “Bondera gives homeowners, crafters and design enthusiasts a new tool to help bring their creative vision to reality.”

Our downstairs bathroom needs to be remodeled because of a broken potty (can you tell I have a small child at home). We have to save money on this so we’re going to do most of the work ourselves and we’ve never done anything like this. So any type of tricks of the trade, such as Bondera, will help immensely!

  12. Robin Peoples on June 27, 2012 4:47 am

  16. Shari Harniss on June 27, 2012 5:34 am

I’m not sure- but, it’ll be cool whatever it is!

  17. Debbie R. on June 27, 2012 5:48 am

Anytime I think “tile would look perfect here” (wall, table top, old wooden box), my next thought is “but, the mess”. I am so happy to learn of this product. Yea!

  18. Shelley on June 27, 2012 5:53 am

Bondera sounds wonderful! I would first try it to cover the oval frame of a framed mirror with sea shells, then move on to mosaic flower pots (as I doubt 2 rolls would actually be enought o do my backsplash). If these worked nicely as practice I would then be comfortable purchasing enough of the product to do the backsplash in the kitchen. I actually have just plain drywall on the backsplash now and would love to have tile. Of copure, all the finished projects would be posted on my blog so I could get opinions.

  19. Nancy on June 27, 2012 6:20 am

I would love a kitchen backsplash!

  20. Linda DeJesus on June 27, 2012 6:21 am

Wow – this sounds great! With Bondera, I believe I could actually complete our tile kitchen backsplash myself! We have had the boxes of tiles for this project for about 2 years now….my kitchen laminate floor project has taken 6 years and is still not 100% complete yet! I don’t plan on waiting that long for the tile backsplash! Ugh!! Bondera – Please help a desperate housewife in Wisconsin! Please??!!

  40. Dana on June 27, 2012 9:26 am

I have several projects in mind! We are getting ready to tile the master bath and I have a mosaic planned for the front of the tub and a co-ordinating top for antique sewing machine legs that are being repurposed as tub side table.
My younger daughter has antique 1 inch tiles we salvaged from a tear down she wants to combine with glass tiles to edge her floor and tub with.
We also salvaged a claw foot tub from that same tear down, it will be going into the guest bath downstairs and I would love to tile a rug in front of it.
If that weren’t enough! I also want to tile the wall behind the stove and add some accent tiles under the range hood.

And after that, tile the bathroom floor, cover the support posts downstairs, and finally, perhaps the trickiest job, build a display for the hand painted Portuguese tiles my husband brought home. So many things to do!
