Decorative painters are sometimes seen in other artists eyes as different .
On the positive side they are seen as artists who simply work on surfaces other than canvas.
On the negative side they are sometimes not seen as real artists, because the methods used as well as painting surface can be quite drastically different.
That is ofcourse nonsense.
But sometimes it is nice to be in an atmosphere where you feel at home and where there are people who appreciate decorative painters…and also where there are OTHER decorative painters.
Groups are a great way to share information and techniques, and to show off your progress as a painter. There is also a great site that is decorative painter friendly.
That site is artwanted.com
Here are some links for Yahoo groups that focus on decorative painting.
I have not joined all of them nor have I examined any closely.
