Erin crafts some fabulous things with huipils (pronounced wee-PEELS), which are traditional woven blouses worn by women in Guatemala. The huipil fabrics are inherently colorful and fun, which makes the upcycled works of art equally colorful. Here, Erin fashioned a mini collage of huipil fabrics. Visit her blog and brand-new Etsy store to view more of her work.

Add these adorable daisies to the list of items that can be made from plastic bags. The Strewth! shop at Etsy, which features “the essence of the outdoors, the sea and surf of Australia,” makes these colorful cuties into magnets, barrettes, bobby pins and fashion pins.

File this under repurposed, not recycled (ew!), crafts. In New Zealand, Vicky Heir won a toilet paper wedding dress competition sponsored by Cottonsofts toilet paper. Dress entries could be composed of no more than eight double-sized rolls of the cottony, absorbant stuff. This winning entry is simply too stunny to flush down the toilet.
